He was very kind to me and I always remember him saying to me that where I came from “they spoke with a beautiful embryonic lyrical quality”… Fortunately I won the heat and receied $50… It was spent over the bar at the old North Perth Hotel… Would love to know if they kept the footage from these shows? They had a screen with the words to the songs with a black bouncing ball on top of the word to sing. Everyone including the kids enjoyed themselves.

I also sang on radio 6KG at that age. I sang ” For Ever and Ever.” It was for a kids music talent show. I was in the finals and two brothers who played the piano won.
I lived in Egan Street . I am 74 years now and live in Sydney.
