I was a school boy at Applecross Senior High school when the mast was still there, somewhere between 1959 and 1965. I remeber the day the mast was removed by cutting guy wires. I was in class and did not see it unfortunatly. CH7 did a film news story, as I viewed it on the news that night. An electric globe that was at the top survived the crash to ground.
Wonder if the film is still in the CH7 archives...?
