▪ 1959-1976 Foundation Company Secretary ▪ 1976-1978 Executive Director, Finance and Administration Darcy Farrell points out that Frank Moss was an unsung hero of Channel Seven, and should be recognised for his humanitarian role with in the organisation. … It was always Frank Moss who had a sympathetic ear to people under stress, and his help and advice was a most significant part of the operation, keeping it going when other people were often too busy with the job demands.

Just a belated note to thank the organisers for the wonderful reunion. You all worked so hard for such a long time apparently, and your efforts paid off handsomely. We all had such a great time, so nice to see friends from those happy days at TVW.

Channel Seven extended an invitation to all staff, former management, clients, VIPs and the TVW Reunion Committee to commemorate the golden anniversary of television in Western Australia.

By a strange twist of circumstance I found myself on the Reunion Committee, together with my mother, Jocelyn and a group of people who actually worked at TVW in the early days (I was 15 years old when Brian was forced to resign in a board-room coup; I never worked at the station).

Early version of the Master Log courtesy of Peter Croft In the late 1960’s, TVW embraced early data processing techniques, where the program and advertising information was entered onto IBM punch cards, and then manually sorted into a deck of cards representing every on-air event taking place in a given day.

…Many of you would remember that we had a “Gold Sheet” that was typed up at the last minute with all of the late copy or changes to the Program log.

Having only recently arrived from Africa the year before joining TVW, it was all rather exciting as a 21 year old to be given an opportunity to work at a television station!

Joy Campbell (nee Heweston) worked firstly as a Secretary for George Howell in the music department for the Perth Talent Service and from there to Frank Moss, Brian Treasure and Jim Cruthers, working for TVW from 1963 to 1967.

When we were given our new ‘golf ball’ typewriters we were ecstatic, although we still needed to type six copies at a time (with carbon paper between the pages when doing reports) and not being able to make mistakes certainly honed our skills to be accurate with our typing. … We were often called on to do other jobs as well and had many fun times helping out the producers on outside broadcasts, hosting at the special events (like the Sandover Medal) held in the studios, the Sales Christmas party in the Studio Grounds every year, Miss West Coast, ushering at big events and answering the phones and working at Telethon, etc.
