This site is the collaborative effort of many past and present staff of TVW. It is not an official TVW site, though the station’s support has assisted us gain access to vital historical content. This support is greatly appreciated, as are the considerable efforts of all who contributed.
I am the son of the late Tom Hall, cinephotographer at 7 from it’s inception. I have photo’s of 7 being built, the transmission tower. Even photo’s of my brother and myself in the studios. Photo’s of Rolf Harris on location etc. I would probably be as bold to say some of the B&W photo’s on the webpage were taken by my father (who was “got” by TVW as he had cine knowledge during his days at West Australian Newspapers).
I still have the original video tube (Orophone???) used to give Perth it’s first TV pictures which my dad asked for when it’s “hours of use” had expired.
Maybe some of this might be of interest to the 50 years of TV in Perth?
Quentin Hall (Perth)
Hi Quentin, I am the daughter of the late Matt Williams who was also a camera man for Channel 7 from 1964- 1970. I am sure that your father would have known mine. I would be very interested to know if you have any photos of my father.
