When Jan Urquhart (nee Cooper) joined the Channel 7 Dancers, she appeared on Club Seventeen, Miss West Coast final and The Tenderloin, which was the last show at the Capital Theatre, a show that the whole Club Seventeen cast were in, it was fantastic.

Together with Jan Ladner, Janice danced in Coralie Condon & Frank Baden Powell’s ‘The Old Time Music Hall’.

Janice’s two daughters Jodie & Taryn, were Shirley Halliday dancers and also danced in the Miss West Coast finals when they were little tots. Both daughters went on to dance on the Star Cruise ships. Jodie is a dancing teacher today, and a great choreographer.

The Two Jan’s Dancing in Coralie Condon & Frank Baden Powell’s “Old Time Music Hall”

Coralie Condon and Frank Baden-Powell opened the Old Time Music Hall in Perth in 1967. Frank, a well known theatrical entrepreneur, asked Coralie to do the music for a show he was producing at the Hole in the Wall Theatre on the corner of Newcastle and Stirling Streets, North Perth. It became an evening of old time music which proved very popular. To later move to a larger venue in Fremantle, and then open the following year at the Civic Theatre Restaurant in Inglewood (which became Diamond Lil’s and then the Island Trader).
